Apps
What an app is in Sterodata, which apps are built in, and what installing one does to your workspace.
An app is a ready-made set of tables, views, pages, forms and roles for one job, installed into your workspace in one step from the app gallery. Once installed, everything it made is an ordinary part of your workspace. Rename it, add fields, rebuild its pages, publish them, delete what you don't need: nothing about it is locked.
The built-in apps
| App | Version | What it installs |
|---|---|---|
| CRM | 2.0.0 | 4 tables (Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Activities) and 2 views (Live Pipeline, Forecast by Stage) |
| Commission plan | 2.0.0 | 3 tables (Participants, Transactions, Statement Archive), 3 views (Statement, My Lines, My Statement) and 1 role (Payee) |
| Product catalogue and offers | 3.0.0 | 1 page (Price list), 1 form (Place an order), 4 tables (Products, Clients, Offers, Lines) and 2 views (Catalogue, Totals by Offer) |
| Fruit trial | 2.0.0 | 5 tables (Varieties, Rootstocks, Treatments, Plots, Measurements) and 2 views (Harvest Records, Yield by Plot) |
In the gallery a view counts as a view whether it filters a table or totals it; this documentation calls the second kind a summary.
What installing does
- It makes the app's tables and views in the workspace's built-in database, beside your own tables. An app cannot be installed into another database.
- It can fill them with sample rows, so you see the app working before your own data is in. Later you clear them in one step, and only them.
- It makes pages and forms as drafts. Nobody outside your workspace can open them until you publish them, and you choose to whom.
- It makes roles with their permissions, and puts nobody in them. You decide who gets each role.
- It runs as you. You need permission to add tables, and pages for an app that has them. A workspace admin has both.
- It never takes over something of yours. If the workspace already has a table, view, role or page under a name the app uses, the app says so before you install, and waits until you rename yours.
Each app is installed once per workspace. An assistant you have connected can also install an app for you, as you: see AI assistants.

- Commission planThe Commission plan app: payees on a quota and a rate, credited sales, a statement per payee, and a role that lets each payee see only their own.
