Integrations
How Sterodata connects to the systems you already use: an API whose lists become tables, a PostgreSQL or MySQL database read live, and built-in exchange rates.
Integrations bring data from the systems your business already runs into your workspace, so nobody copies it by hand. There are three kinds.
- An API. Connect a REST or SOAP API, for example your invoicing or shop software. The lists it offers become tables that refresh on a schedule, and the changes it accepts become buttons on your tables.
- A database. Connect a PostgreSQL or MySQL database. Its tables appear in Sterodata, read live and read-only. Nothing is copied.
- Exchange rates. The rates of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) and the European Central Bank (ECB) are built in. Currency fields convert at them without any set-up.
Who can set them up
Connecting an API and keeping its keys and tokens is done under Settings, in the Integrations and Credentials tabs. Only people whose role lets them manage the workspace (workspace admins) see those tabs. Connecting a database is open to anyone whose role lets them create databases in the workspace.

| Page | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Connect an API | Adding an API under Settings, importing its OpenAPI or WSDL description, choosing how it signs in and which lists become tables. |
| Credentials | The workspace's vault for API keys, tokens and passwords. |
| Keep a table in sync | How often a connected API's tables refresh, how rows are matched, and what you can change in them. |
| Connect a database | Reading tables from your own PostgreSQL or MySQL database. |
| Buttons that run an API action | Calling an API's write operations from a table's menu or from each row. |
| Built-in exchange rates | Where currency conversions get their rates, and how to choose BNR, ECB or your own. |
To run several steps in order, on a schedule or at the press of a button, see Automations. To let ChatGPT, Claude or Codex work in your workspace, see AI assistants.

- Built-in exchange ratesCurrency fields convert at the rates of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) or the European Central Bank (ECB), built in and kept current, or at rates you keep yourself.
