Disconnect an assistant

End your own assistant's connection from the account menu, or a member's as a workspace admin. It stops at once, until it is connected again.

A connection lasts until someone ends it. You can end your own at any time, and a workspace's admins can end any member's.

Disconnect your own

  1. Open your account menu and choose Connected assistants.
  2. Each assistant you connected is listed once, with when it was last used (Not used yet if it never was).
  3. Choose Disconnect beside it.

This ends every connection you have with that assistant. Its tokens are deleted at once, and its next request is refused. To use it again, connect it again from the assistant: see Connect ChatGPT, Claude or Codex.

Disconnect a member's, as an admin

  1. Open Settings, General, then Access, and scroll to Connected assistants.
  2. Every assistant a member of this workspace has connected is listed, with Connected by and when it was last used.
  3. Choose Disconnect beside it.

A connection belongs to the member, not to one workspace: the same assistant acts as them in every workspace they belong to. So disconnecting it here ends it everywhere, until the member connects it again. The disconnect is recorded in the audit trail with who ended it.

To keep an assistant out of your workspace for good, change what the member can reach, or remove them from the workspace: their assistant can never do more than they can. See Access.

Other ways a connection ends

  • An assistant left unused for 60 days must be connected again: its refresh token has expired.
  • Removing the connector in your assistant's own settings stops the assistant from using it. To end the connection on Sterodata's side too, disconnect it here.
