Connect ChatGPT, Claude or Codex

Connecting takes a minute and the steps are the same for ChatGPT, Claude and Codex. You need a Sterodata account and a workspace: sign up at app.sterodata.com and create one, or use one you are a member of.

Connect it

1. In your assistant's settings, add a custom connector with this address: https://api.sterodata.com/mcp. There is no API key to create or paste.
2. The assistant sends you to Sterodata. If you are not signed in, sign in with your own account first; you come straight back to the request.
3. Sterodata asks one question, such as Allow ChatGPT to use Sterodata? It explains that the assistant will act as you, by your e-mail address: that it can do what you can do in your workspaces (read and change data, create tables and pages, and publish links), and that you can disconnect it at any time. Under it, the page says which site you will be sent back to.
4. Choose Allow. Sterodata sends you back to the assistant, which is now connected. Cancel sends you back too, and tells the assistant you declined.

The page names the assistant as it introduced itself to Sterodata. Before you choose Allow, check that the name, and the site you will be sent back to, are the assistant you were connecting.

Ask a first question

Start with something it can only answer from your data:

Which tables are in my workspace, and what is in each one?

Then a real question, such as which invoices are more than 30 days overdue, or ask it to build something:

Create a Vendors table with name, contact e-mail and category, and a Contracts table linked to it with service, value per year and renewal date.

Open the app and the new tables are there.

Good to know

• One connection reaches every workspace you are a member of. Tell the assistant which one you mean when you have several.
• The request on the Sterodata page lasts 15 minutes. If it has expired, start again from the assistant.
• Connecting the same assistant again does not add a second entry: your list of Connected assistants shows each assistant once.
• Each person connects their own assistant. A colleague's connection acts as the colleague, never as you.
