Sign up and create a workspace

You need an account to build in Sterodata. People who only open a page or a form you published, by its public or private link, do not.

Create your account

1. Go to https://app.sterodata.com. Under Sign in to your account, next to Don't have an account?, choose Sign up.
2. Enter your Name, Email and a Password, type the password again under Confirm password, and choose Sign up.
3. Sterodata emails you a code. Enter it under Confirmation code and choose Confirm account. If no code arrives, check your spam folder or choose Resend code.

Once your email is confirmed, you are signed in and taken to your workspaces.

A password needs at least 8 characters, with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number.

Create your workspace

A workspace is where your tables, pages and team live. While you have none, the screen reads Create your first workspace. With one or more, it lists them under Your workspaces, and the form below is headed Create a new workspace.

1. Under Workspace name, type a short name: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, at least two characters, starting and ending with a letter or a number. For example acme-sales. The dice button, Generate random name, makes one up.
2. Check Document language. It decides what your pages, forms and shared links read in, and how they write numbers and dates. It starts from your browser's region. The choices are English (United States or United Kingdom), Romanian, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.
3. Choose Create workspace.

You are the workspace's owner, with full control. It opens on its Data section, and since a new workspace holds no tables yet, it offers you a way to start. See Three ways to start.

The name, the display name and the language later

The workspace name is its address: app.sterodata.com/acme-sales. A few names belong to Sterodata itself, such as auth, api and pages, and are refused.

The name your team and customers read can be different. Set it in Settings › General under Display name, which may have spaces and capitals. The same screen changes the address under URL key, though links you already sent stop working, and the document language under Locale.

Sign in later

1. At https://app.sterodata.com, enter your Email and choose Continue.
2. Enter your Password and choose Sign in.

You land on your workspaces; choose one to open it. If you forgot your password, choose Forgot password? on the password step, and Sterodata emails you a code to set a new one. More in Your account.
