Documentation Getting started

Invite your team

Invite colleagues into your workspace by email, choose their roles, and know what a new member sees.

A workspace starts with one member: you, its owner, with full control. Invite each colleague by email, and give them the roles that match their work. Inviting is for people allowed to manage the workspace's users, which a workspace admin is.

Invite someone

  1. Open Settings › Users › Members and choose Invite user.
  2. Enter their Email, tick the Roles they should have, and choose Send invitation.
  3. Sterodata emails them a one-time link, and shows you the same link to send yourself if you prefer. If the email could not be sent, it says so, and you share the link. Choose Done.

The invitation waits under Pending until it is answered. Your colleague opens the link, signs in, or signs up with the address you invited, and chooses Accept invitation. An invitation works only for the email it was sent to.

A new member sees only what a role or a share gives them. A role that grants nothing gives them an empty workspace, and they are told to ask a workspace admin. Decide what each role may read and change before you invite people into it: see Access, and the worked example How to give each person access to only what they need.

Let people join without an invitation

In Settings › General › Access, Allow self-join lets anyone signed in to Sterodata join your workspace as a regular member, without being invited. It is off unless you turn it on. Keep it off unless that is what you mean.

Next

  • Change a member's roles, or remove them: Access.
  • Your own name, email and password: Your account.
